Pittsburgh Industry Career Launch Job Fair

The Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC) is hosting the Pittsburgh Industry Career Launch Job Fair

Thursday, September 28, Noon through 3:00 PM.
YORKTOWN HALL
Student and alumni job seekers will have the opportunity to network with local and regional recruiters from over 90 companies and organizations. Many of these organizations are looking for interns and full-time hires for the fall , spring and summer.  All majors are welcome.

Many of our degree programs required internships and all employers prefer to hire students with practical work experience.  Students who attend, connect face-to-face with many of our regions top employers and often get first dips on top jobs and internships.
Without adequate student participation we run the risk of these employers not attending future recruiting events at RMU.  Your encouragement and support is greatly appreciated.

It is never too early to begin networking!

Message from Marketing Department Head Dr. Jill Maher

Marketing Majors-

I thought you might be interested in this information - examples of companies doing good. Marketers are tested daily to "do the right thing." You will need a strong moral compass and a belief in corporate and social responsibility as a marketing leader. We hear so much negativity about corporate America, but here are some examples of companies doing good for others.

Listening to the recent news of the disaster in Texas from Hurricane Harvey, it is easy to become overwhelmed by the scope of the devastation and needs of those affected by the storm. Hurricane Harvey released more than 24.5 trillion gallons of rain, devastating communities and displacing thousands of families and businesses.
But, it is often in times of greatest need that people and companies join together to help those who need it most, without asking for anything in return. Companies are providing money, food, water, donations, and solutions around the area. Some examples:
  • Anheuser-Busch stopped beer production in Georgia to instead produce more than 155,000 cans of water to areas affected by Harvey.
  • Kroger Foundation committed to $100,000 to the Houston Food Back and is donating $5 for every retweet of #KrogerCares.
  • Google pledged $2 million and is also providing urgent information to those in impacted areas, creating a real-time crisis map to help those on the ground.
  • CVS pharmacy is moving its mobile pharmacy trailers into the area to help people with medications, in addition to monetary donations.
It doesn’t stop with companies. Many celebrities and athletes have donated money directly and through foundations to help Texas residents.
Does this surprise you? It shouldn’t. Roughly 89% of global citizens think companies should use their unique abilities and assets to lend assistance during a disaster (BY  | FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2017 · 10:40 PM_
