Start Date: Monday, May 8th – Friday, August 24th 2018 (16 weeks). If the intern is eligible, and if PBX has availability, the company may wish to continue with the intern on a permanently paid position (part/fulltime). *This position is optimal for college juniors looking to earn college credit before their Senior Year Begins, and also college seniors in need of an internship/credits to graduate. 


Requirements:• Understands people, and very forward thinking, outgoing, social • VERY efficient in writing, and limited fear of public speaking • Is a very dynamic person who can work the room at well-attended events 200 – 500 guests • Understands and can navigate social networking sites to gain even more of a loyal following • Well-versed in facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media outlets • Can enhance our brand and bring our company to its full potential • A personal computer/laptop will be necessary for this position

Miscellaneous Duties and Responsibilities: This list will always be evolving. The intern will not necessarily do all/any of the following, but may/will assist, occasionally, if need be with: • Assist the Membership Coordinator and Executive Administrator • Identify key Pittsburgh Leaders via Social Media and invite them to events • Innovative strategies to grow our following/membership base • Preparing and Sending Membership/Welcome Packets • Occasional reminder Calls/Informational Calls to members • MUST be at every monthly social event. Third Wednesday of Every Month 6-8pm • Follow up Calls/Surveys • Outbound Invitations to Prospective Members • Invoicing members; renewals, events, tickets • Memberships Sales/Processing/Filing • Help with Mailings/printing/gifts • Teamwork using Google docs to develop Programs/Spreadsheets/Documents • Uploading Pictures from Social Events and tagging them appropriately • Thank you cards/Follow up cards/emails • Donation requests from Sponsors • Creative Thinking/Problem Solving • Occasional Media/PR/Press releases • Weekly progress reports

NOTE: It is preferred that student applicants receive college credits through their college/university/educational institution. 3 – 9 credits minimum. We will work directly with the institution to facilitate the program and credits (PBX is a college accredited program).

Eligibility
· Full-time undergraduate student enrolled at RMU

· Minimum 60 credits (at least 30 earned at RMU) as of 1/1/18; Maximum 90 credits

· Minimum GPA = 3.5

Note: full institutional tuition scholarship recipients are not eligible. Also, previous winners of the 20-Year Club scholarship are not eligible.

The scholarship winner will be selected based upon a blind review of applications by the 20-Year Scholarship Club Committee. Committee members w ill review the application and the required essay to determine the winner.

Attention Marketing Students-New Toastmasters Club On Campus

We are proud and excited to announce Robert Morris University now has a student chapter of Toastmasters. Toastmasters International is a global organization dedicated to improving public speaking and leadership skills. The RMU chapter is open to all students of the university. A kickoff meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 6th at 5:00 in Hopwood Hall.

Representatives from Toastmasters, along with the RMU student president, will present the club and go over the benefits of membership. As you know, public speaking is very important in business. Toastmasters can help with multiple aspects of public speaking, from overcoming speaking anxiety to fine tuning the skills a speaker already enjoys.
