Attention Marketing students: PRACTICE INTERVIEWS

Did you know that the most qualified person does not always get the job or internship? Don't miss this opportunity to hone your interview skills by receiving  honest feedback about the way you dress, how you ask and answer questions, your handshake, eye contact, and other subtle (and not-so-subtle) behaviors that may be impacting how potential employers perceive you. 

Be prepared for current and future interviews for internships and full-time positions.  Take advantage of this program that has benefited so many RMU students.
 
Note: if students don't take advantage of these, employers won't offer future opportunities!

Rande Somma "Ethics First" Scholarship case competition

This is a reminder that the Rande Somma "Ethics First" Scholarship case competition on the minimum wage deadline is only three weeks away.  A good analysis could well be worth $5000.    

Four scholarships worth $5000 will be awarded to SBUS students in 2018.  All candidates who compete in the Integrity First case competition will also earn an entry on the Undergraduate Research category of their Student Engagement Transcript (SET)!! 

Even if you don't qualify for the scholarship, you are eligible for SET credit.

We want to cater your experience toward the coursework and activities most beneficial to you, an RMU Marketing Major. Throughout your years here, I will use this mobile app to send you notifications important to marketing majors. Soon, I will use the app instead of these emails. This way, I will make sure you know everything there is to know as a marketing major.

Job Opportunity at Pittsburgh International Race Complex




The Marketing Assistant is a full-time position responsible for supporting the Sales and Marketing departments. This position also serves as an initial point of contact for customers who visit or call Pitt Race and is responsible for generating much of the facility’s media library.
Requirements:
·   Bachelor’s in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field.
·   Prior experience working in marketing or advertising is recommended.
·   Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
·   Highly experienced with social media platforms, including Facebook, Snap Chat, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.
·   Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
·   Excellent problem-solving skills.
·   Willing to travel to off-site events, training, and meetings as required.
·   Available to work evenings and at least 2 weekends a month.
·   Strong communication (written and oral) skills.
·   Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
·   Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities:
·   Maintain inventory report for the Pro Shop.
·   Work closely with the marketing team to develop new pieces for inventory.
·   Create innovative ways to upsell products.
·   Capture media content during major weekend events on site.
·   Assist marketing team in producing monthly video/blog for newsletter and TVC introduction videos.
·   Work with Sales Director to greet incoming groups and cross promote other events and products.
·   Support Sales Director and Karting Operations Manager with booking corporate groups and Arrive and Drives.
·   Edit corporate group photos for the Sales Director.
·   Capture social media sales leads for Sales Director.
·   Assist in karting registration as needed.
·   Manage customer birthday messages and special offers via Constant Contact.
·   Update social media posts/calendar.
·   Assist in monitoring active marketing programs and developing ways to improve those campaigns.
·   Assist marketing team with large projects.
